A huge shout out to our SJC wrestlers who took part in the Medicine Hat wrestling clinic and meet last weekend. It was their first time getting on the mat since wrestling began last year. Our athletes made an impact, being regarded as the “toughest” people out there! Great job wrestlers! Next weekend our grade 9 wrestlers will take on the Jr. Olympics. Transportation Update: Dec. 22 6:30 am: Our school is open, however, in-town and rural buses will not run as it has been deemed too cold for students to wait at bus stops, particularly if the bus was to run late. Students and staff driving to school should exercise caution giving them extra time. We apologize for this continued disruption. Next week is the last week before Christmas holidays and that means it will be SPIRIT WEEK! We can't wait to see you in all your holiday gear!

Earlier this week students had the opportunity to Pie-A-Teacher for Chalice! Thank you to the students who purchased pies, the teachers who volunteered to be pied and to our Student Council for hosting the event! All proceeds will be donated to the Chalice fundraiser. Stay tuned for the next Chalice Fundraiser!

Don't forget tomorrow at lunch Student Council is hosting Pie-a-Teacher where you have the opportunity to pie your teachers for only $10! All money will be donated to our Advent Chalice Fundraiser!

Still looking for something to do today? Don’t forget to stop by SJC between 10:00-4:00 for the Jazz Band Christmas Market! There will be shopping, a bake sale, 50/50 tickets, bucket draws, and Santa will be there from 10:00-11:00 and 2:30-4:00! Make sure you also say hi to Mr. Kleiboer who is selling projects from the SJC wood shop. All money from his sales goes back into the shop. Hope to see you there!

Last month SJC hosted the National Evangelization Team (NET) for grade 9-11. We are so thankful to NET, Colm Leyne and Fr. Marino for giving their talents to make these retreats a success. Here’s some quotes from students about their experience: “Everyone needs to slow down sometimes, time flies by and it's difficult to get a moment of silence and peace to really just consider everything. NET retreats give us a moment to slow down and think. Plus it's fun.” Grade 11 Student “The net retreat is such a wonderful organization, that is hosted by amazing people. They share great stories, they are absolutely friendly and they have fun activities that students can participate in.” Grade 10 Student “It’s a fun and creative way to get students interested in growing their faith. It allows students an opportunity to be surrounded with friends and gives them another interactive option in having a relationship with Christ.” Grade 9 Student
