SJC rocked our socks yesterday for World Down Syndrome Day, in support and to spread awareness. Together we advocate for inclusion, acceptance and love for those with Down Syndrome, and for all. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with your entire mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two great commandments.”
Tickets go on sale TOMORROW for our Lenten Almsgiving Raffle, with all money being donated to Chalice Canada. The grand prize is AMAZING! This year for our Lenten Mission in conjunction with Chalice, we will be paired with Miurine Primary School in Mikinduri, Kenya to raise funds for much-needed cementing of classroom floors. Cementing the classroom floors will eliminate the constant dust that fills the air as the students learn. This will then give them a more hygienic place to be in, improve their health, and contribute to a better learning environment. Join us in contributing to our Lenten Almsgiving, and praying for Miurine Primary School. Donate online at https://secure.e2rm.com/p2p/fundraising/367078/team/975162/en-CA

Check out Chalice Canada] post about one of their favourite 'Animals as Gifts' photos! Don’t forget to donate to our Chalice Canada] Advent campaign this week to find out which SIM is the GOAT!? We are raising money to provide communities in need with animals! The sponsored child in this photo, Josué, and his family received a pair of piglets through the gift catalogue! His father Jeremiah built a pen, and the family feeds them every day. That way, the pigs will reproduce, and they can sell them for income. Other animals provide meat, eggs, milk, and also the opportunity for income! 🐖 🐔 🐄 🐐 🐑
It’s the last week before Christmas break and that means SPIRIT WEEK! Listen to announcements this week for more details!

It is hard to imagine that people can be discriminated, or worse, persecuted because of their faith. Today, across the world, 327 million Christians live in a country where there is persecution of various degrees. Because of their faith, individuals have and continue to endure discrimination, arrest, incarceration, torture, and in some cases are killed. Join us in wearing red tomorrow to show solidarity with Christians who are suffering.
