’Twas the night before school, and all through the place,
Students were checking their classes so they knew the right space.
Their backpacks were ready, their outfits just right,
Though nobody planned on going to sleep early tonight.
New classes, new teachers, a schedule to learn,
A few awkward hallways and wrong turns to discern.
“Will I know anyone? Will my classes be cool?”
So many questions before heading to school.
But before they drifted off, they paused for a prayer,
Thanking God for new friends and the year they would share.
“Lord, guide us tomorrow in all that we do,
Help us be kind, courageous, and faithful to You.”
The alarm was set, though ignored once or twice,
Morning coffee would surely be necessary advice.
With one final scroll and a yawn in the night,
They headed to bed—or at least turned off the light.
A new year was waiting, a fresh start to begin,
With God by their side through each loss and each win.
So sleep while you can, and don’t worry too much—
With faith, hope, and courage, you’re ready for such!
And as morning arrives with the bright rising sun,
Remember: with God, there’s no journey you face alone.
So step through those doors with your hearts open wide—
God’s got you covered on the first day inside!
