What a day at Provincials x2!! Our Wrestlers had a great first day and Ana, Lidia & Anyah all continue tomorrow! The Preliminary Rounds continue starting at 9am! Stay tuned for the live stream link. Our Sr. Boys Game came down to the final three seconds! With a 102-100 win, the Crusaders are off to the Provincial Championship Game tomorrow night at 7:30pm! Stay tuned for the live stream link. Our Sr. Boys Team had a great start this morning winning their opening game. They will be playing again tonight at 7:00pm in the semi finals against Kate Andrews High School! We will be hosting a viewing party so SJC students may come and support their peers. This event is for SJC STUDENTS ONLY, bring your student ID! Please note the main doors will OPEN at 6:45pm, and CLOSE at 7:30. There will no outside food or beverages allowed. It's already been a busy morning, but we aren't even close to being done! Six Crusader Wrestlers and their coaches are on their way to Lethbridge for Provincials. They will be competing at ASAA High School Provincial Wrestling Championship today and tomorrow in Lethbridge! Open ceremonies begin at 3:00pm and the event begins at 4:00pm! Hey SJC, get ready to Rock Your Socks! World Down Syndrome Day is a day set aside to raise awareness and educate the general public about Down Syndrome and to raise public awareness. Be part of the global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well being of people with Down syndrome! It will be a busy weekend for us as we have TWO different sports teams heading to PROVINCIALS!! Our Sr. Boys Basketball Team left today for Peace River. Their first game will be this Friday, March 17th at 8:30am! Our Wrestling Team will be headed off to Lethbridge on Friday, March 17th where opening ceremonies will begin at 4:00pm! It was a whirlwind of basketball this weekend with all three high school teams attending the South Central 2A Zone Championship. The Sr Girls hosted and started off winning the first game of the tournament. And ended with a final placing of 4th right behind the 3 provincially ranked teams that attended. Awesome work ladies. The JV Boys headed off to Black Diamond blazing the way through their draw and coming home as Champions. The Sr Boys headed to off to Drumheller and dominated their opponents, also coming home as Champions. The Sr Boys will be headed off to Provincials in Peace River on Wednesday. SJC Student Spotlight: Sarah Matthews! This past weekend Sarah represented SJC at the Alberta Wind Symphony in Red Deer, AB for the second year in a row! The Alberta Wind Symphony provides outstanding high school band students from across the province the opportunity to work with some of the finest concert band educations, recognized both nationally and internationally, grow musically and meet other musically vibrant instrumentalists. Sarah's highlight of the weekend was being able to meet such talented musicians and work with nationally accredited conductors! There was some great basketball played at SJC this weekend. We hosted 8 teams in the South Central 4J Girls Basketball Zone Championship. Congratulations to our girls team for working hard all season and not giving up. This weekend they earned themselves a bronze medal.
