Staff and parent volunteers from Holy Family Academy, Christ The King Academy, and St. Joseph’s Collegiate held a dinner for New Canadian families in our schools at St. Mary’s Parish on Monday, January 29. Funds for this dinner were provided by the three staffs who were excited to welcome our new families to our school and parish community and to get to know them better. We look forward to holding this event again in the future.
Teachers from St. Joseph’s Collegiate and Christ The King Academy worked together to do some professional learning on January 31. Staff engaged in professional dialogue about the Programs of Study for Grades 5-12, where they saw potential gaps in learning based on these curricula, and discussed how to help students continue to find success at each grade level so that they could be ready for future courses and learning. This work will continue during some professional learning times on Friday afternoons in Semester Two.
